December was a BIG Month for Home Sales in North Palm Beach

December homes sales in North Palm Beach were SPECTACULAR!

Welcome to our first sales report of 2011 and what a way to start off the new year. Interest rates were down the first week of the year and now I have the pleasure to report that December single family home sale in North Palm Beach jumped off the chart from November levels. It also was tied as our second highest sales month of 2010 and a sign that things are moving in the right direction. During December our local MLS system shows a total of 14 successful closings as of this mornings’ update. That compares with 3 sales in November and one of the better performances we have seen in a very long time.

Sales last month were not only very strong but they were also spread across all price categories. People are in fact starting to spend again which is what this economy needs to continue growing. The chart below shows the percentage of sales by price category for the month of December.

With sales strong across the board last month we also saw a significant jump in the median priced sale. The median price increased dramatically to $450,000 which in fact is a tie for the third highest month we have seen in the past year. Once again, the “season” should bring more sales of the higher priced product and no doubt we will see nice increases in the level in median sales prices over the coming months. The chart below shows median prices through the entire year of 2010.

A professional real estate agent watches these market trends very closely as the data is very important to our clients, whether they are buying or selling, to paint a picture of where the market may be heading. After spending years among the top individual performers at one of Palm Beach County’s largest and most successful real estate brokerages, Tom Priester knew there was another way to do real estate. A better way. Real estate services focused on the customer. Like the old days when the customer truly was #1. He tired of listening to why he should be going out to have his customers sign one sided buyers’ brokerage agreements. He tired of hearing how he should be selling customers why paying higher commissions, like 7% and 8%, was to their benefit. He tired of hearing how he should sell his clients on why they should be paying hundreds of dollars in additional “transaction fees”. The business had slid way too far from being focused on the customer. His customer. So he decided the time was right to be different… design. To start his own unique boutique real estate firm truly focused on his customers. They will now have access to a process focused on them. Only the best marketing techniques to sell their homes. No cutting corners. Commission structures based on his clients needs not his. Paradise Sharks was born out of Tom’s passion to return this business to the customer. Where it belongs. If you want a real estate experience that benefits you, just give Tom a call at 561 308-0175 or send him an e-mail at You can always pay more and receive less but that just would not make any sense. Would it?
