NEVER let a Realtor put a combination lock box on your home EVER

Last nights’ e-mail was a bit frightening

Last night I was winding down and decided to check my e-mail one last time. It was 10:00 and one e-mail I found was from an agent I had contacted about 4 hours earlier. It was a  response to a simple inquiry about how his clients’ perceived our listing that he had showed earlier in the day. Here is his response;

Hi Tom I am sorry but I did not show your property or ask to show it. How did you get my information. You are one of several agents sending me these emails.

I confirmed through my electronic listing tracking that we had indeed received a showing request through our ShowingTime software for this agent. We confirmed their showing at exactly 8:48 PM the previous evening. We have the electronic trail right there on the computer screen.

What bothers me most was the “you are one of several agents sending me these e-mails” part. I advised this agent to contact his MLS and immediately change his password used to access his account. I have no idea what the real motive is but could somebody have access to scheduling showings through your MLS? Could they want easy access to homes where showing instructions come back as combination lock box on hose bib set to 5287? Could they?

Well guess what? It is just one more reason to NEVER allow a real estate broker to put any lock box on your home unless it is electronically accessed and monitored. EVER. If you want your home protected by an electronic lock box, marketed with professional high resolution photos and detailed property descriptions written by a published author please feel free to reach out to Paradise Sharks for a complimentary consultation at Demand the highest level of customer service coupled with the best value as you deserve it. After spending years among the top individual performers at one of Palm Beach County’s largest and most successful real estate brokerages, Tom Priester knew there was another way to do real estate. A better way. Real estate services focused on the customer. Like the old days when the customer truly was #1. He tired of listening to why he should be going out to have his customers sign one sided buyers’ brokerage agreements. He tired of hearing how he should be selling customers why paying higher commissions, like 7% and 8%, was to their benefit. He tired of hearing how he should sell his clients on why they should be paying hundreds of dollars in additional “transaction fees”. The business had slid way too far from being focused on the customer. His customer. So he decided the time was right to be different… design. To start his own unique boutique real estate firm truly focused on his customers. They will now have access to a process focused on them. Only the best marketing techniques to sell their homes. No cutting corners. Commission structures based on his clients needs not his. Paradise Sharks was born out of Tom’s passion to return this business to the customer. Where it belongs. If you want a real estate experience that benefits you, just give Tom a call at 561 308-0175 or send him an e-mail at You can always pay more and receive less but that just would not make any sense. Would it?
